Rotary Minutes Aug. 20 2009

DG Doug Byers VisitWe welcomed DG 7070 Doug and ADG David , also Shabnam and Doreen.
Directors met at 6 p.m. and the regular meeting commenced at about 7 p.m.
All activities and proposed activities of the club were presented and discussed. Well done club members.DG Doug gave us an excellent talk about Rotary and his plans for the district this year with the lead statement that” Rotary is in your hands”.Just remember the Rotaractors, they need to attend the conferences, Polio plus , Meals for a Mind instead of Night of a thousand dinners, Radar and the Aids program, plus Grannies to Grannies, the District conference and the big one in Montreal June 2010. leadership skills in Belleville Nov. 14 and a repeat in Jan. Feb. in Toronto, Camp RYLA and our scholarship student activities.

Special thanks to David and Matthew Ho who worked the BBQ ( picked up and delivered same) at the summer program at Leacock Collegiate , helping the director Hugh feed 150 kids.
Sept. 8 Michael will rep. us at a Foundation meeting .

And the fun time -50/50 draw won by Bob but not the prize with the 8 of spades and on to Happy Bucks, congratulations to Randy as Bob regaled us with the actions of Randy B’bsitting the 2 small Storey children while supervising Bingo last Monday.,Doreen and Grant are looking forward to son Graem’s lovely summer wedding this month, Ajit , Shabnam and the rest of us celebrated Ajit’s birthday on the day, Michael reports that Karen is preparing a curriculum for college level students, and his economic research of 2003 still holds good today, (wish I knew more detail-ask Michael),Robert and family picked up Melinda in Quebec and toured and holidayed, saw the Rock, Perce, Soo is finally seeing the results of including diabetic teaching to education students , and of course we all appreciated the presence of the DG and ADG
AUG. 27 meet at 17 Sheldonbury, regular time , dress casual and work will include making our showcase material more effective i.e. display of world Rotary banners, and our various activities in picture form.– and of course working on our “template of action”
