Yesterday, I attended my 1st caucus meeting with the Premier designate Kathleen Wynne. We had an engaging, energetic, open discussion with Kathleen. The entire caucus is behind our new leader. I know that our new Premier has begun reaching out to the various partners from different sectors. She has a very competent transitional team (ie. Francis Lankin, David Crombie, Don Drummond, etc) supporting her. I am very excited and keen to work under the leadership of Kathleen Wynne.
Tonight, Councillor Mike Delgrande, Trustee Sam Sotiropoulos and I hosted a meeting with Paul Godfrey. Paul did a clear, informative presentation about the modernization of casinos. He provided numerous examples across Ontario. Paul was accessible and answered all questions asked by the audience. We had a healthy discussion on casinos. I want to thank MIke, Sam, members of the riding association (Ed, Sandy, Ron, Hilla) along with riding executive (Al, Walter, Lai, Maureen, Eden) and my staff (Jo-anne, Kory and Abdullah) for organizing tonight community event. I also want to recognized Sunny Ho (our MC) for tonight’s event. He did a great job! I was very pleased the meeting was attended by only Scarborough Agincourt residents and everyone got away from the presentation knowing more about the casino issues and how Paul Godfrey and the OLG’s plan to modernize this adult entertaining industry.
